Recently, my workplace's parent company, Tiugo, organised a work holiday at the gold coast.
The night before the event, I stayed at the Sheraton Four Points Hotel, in Brisbane. The pool and views from my room were incredible.
On the first day, our team met up at the office, and we enjoyed lunch at the Queen's Plaza Food Court (I got some rice paper rolls!). We then boarded a shuttle to the Sheraton Grand Mirage.
We were all given a bit of downtime, so a few coworkers and I went for a walk to the beach, which was right outside our accomodation.
Around dinner time, we had a small reception, where we had a few drinks and some dinner. This was also where I got my first kickoff lanyard!
On day 2, we had the main event, where the executives of tiugo recapped our 2025 accomplishments, and set us goals for 2026. It was interesting to see how our work contributed to the company from a business/financial standpoint. We also took a group photo.
For dinner, everyone went to the beergarden, where we kicked back, ate and played some giant jenga (+ had more to drink).
I hadn't actually met some of my coworkers before since Tiny is optional work-from-home, so I'm really glad I got to meet the ones who live elsewhere on this holiday.
I honestly had the best time down at the coast; every moment was humbling. It emphasised to me how grateful I feel be apart of such an intelligent and easy going group of people.
